David Cork leads a double life. His clients know him as the investment counselor that helps them create financial success. Thousands of his readers recognize him as a bestselling author, commentator and leading expert on the demographics of the baby boom.

Heeding his colleagues, advice to "keep his day job," David to this day is a director of ScotiaMcLeod, a national investment firm. For nearly twenty years, he's advised families, businesses, individuals and trusts.  And many of his clients are members of the largest, most powerful generation ever - the baby boom.

Sometimes the smallest event can change our lives.  Early in the 1990s, David read a magazine article on the social impact of the baby boom in North America. The article confirmed everything he'd observed in his own clients.  As they matured, this group of boomers were becoming increasingly interested in investing in financial markets to save for their kids' educations and fund their own retirements.  David began seriously researching the topic of demographics and quickly realized the tidal wave of baby boomers were poised to hit the financial markets, driving them to unprecedented heights.

In 1996, David Cork translated his practical experience and extensive research into the bestseller, The Pig and the Python: How to Prosper from the Aging Baby Boom.  That book spent 40 weeks on national bestseller lists.  David released an American version of The Pig and the Python in 1998.  David followed his first success with a second book - When the Pig Goes to Market: How to Achieve Long-Term Investing Success. David’s third book Bulls, Bears and Pigs: How to Find Balance in Your Financial Life was published in 2005.

His insightful comments on the future of the markets, combined with his humorous view of the world of the boomers, have made David a favorite commentator on both sides of the border.
